The three primary types of EV charging points are rapid, fast, and slow
Rapid or Super Chargers are predominantly located at Motorway Services and other public areas, catering to the need for ultra-fast charging during travel. Tesla Super Chargers, for instance, serve as a prime example, capable of charging a vehicle up to 80% in a mere 20 minutes.
Fast Chargers serve as the standard option for both home and workplace charging, making them suitable for installation in residential properties, businesses, and various public locations. Users can conveniently charge their vehicles within just a few hours, based on the specific vehicle and charger rating. Our most frequently installed fast charger has a rating of 7kW, efficiently charging most vehicles from 0 to 100% in a time frame of 6-8 hours.
Slow chargers, also known as trickle chargers, are primarily intended for emergency charging situations and may require 12 hours or more to fully charge a vehicle. These chargers are typically designed to work with standard 13A plug sockets. However, they are not intended for regular day-to-day use, as using them consistently can lead to socket overload in your house.
